I just have to say thank you for this great year in reading. My favorite thing we did this year was presenting end of year presentation it really boosted my confidence also it was super fun. I glad I had you has my reading teacher and I wish you were staying so I could visit you. I also learn a lot from your class and the actives we did were just as fun has this year with you.

I feel like Stella really relates to me. In the book, Stella hates writing and I agree with her. Also in the book, she sits right by the piano in class and likes the tunes Mrs. Grayson plays which I like music and tunes. Another thing is, on pages 57,66,and 67 it shows her writing and she scribbles out the words she doesn’t spell right which I am not at all a good speller I always mess up on spelling. So that’s why I think Stella relates to me. I Also think that Spoonman is very mysterious. In the book, in chapter 12 it started normally and then Jojo said “ Spoonman is here .” Which kind confused me like who is Spoonman. Also in the book, Spoonman collects old stuff and kitten supplies around North Carolina which is kind of weird to me.

I think that Stella will get out of there. In the book, the Klan was around her area and she was very frightened. Also in the book, Stella’s dad and other Negro dad were meeting up and I feel like they were talking how they have to get out of there.

I give it four stars because I like the characters and the book described well. Also it had a lot of emotions and a good storyline. But it also had bad parts where it wasn’t the most interesting book which kind made it hard to read for me but that’s just a opinion.

Fav Character

My favorite character is Camille it’s because her and her family were pretty helpful and kind in the story. Camille would research and find stuff for Wavie. Overall I think that Camille is a good friend and pretty helpful.

Fav Moment

My favorite moment is when wavie met Camille and Gilbert. I think it’s good that Wavie met those people because she didn’t really have any good people she could trust or talk to. Also Camille and Gilbert were very kind and helpful to Wavie.

I think the Bowmans will still want Wavie as their daughter. In the book, Anita wrote back to Wavie and Anita sounded super sweet so I feel like she would still want Wavie to be her daughter. Also in the book, Samantha Rose was the one who sent the bad letter to the Bowmans so I feel like Wavie would just tell them it was Samantha Rose who sent that letter and they would believe her.

I think that Wavie wasn’t going to get adopted. In the book, Samantha Rose said that Wavie was going to get adopted by the Bowmans which I feel like Wavie can’t trust Samantha Rose. Also in the book, Her mom didn’t tell Wavie about her almost getting adopted. I also think that Gilbert is really smart but he just doesn’t try.
In the book, it seem he just doesn’t want to look smart and be special.Also in the book, he looks like he doesn’t have enough money for school like college and supplies.

I think that Samantha Rose is either trying to get money out of Wavie or she isn’t even Wavie’s Aunt. I n the book, Wavie’s mom barely even talked about her family and her sister. Also in the book, there was pictures of Wavie’s mom and Samantha Rose in the background look really jealous or suspicious. In the book, even Hoyt said Samantha Rose was probably using Wavie for money which makes sense because Wavie has social security checks every month that Samantha Rose would probably steal this is on page 42.

Klondike Kate by Liza Ketchum tells how a girl named Kate traveled to go dig for gold but instead became known for opening restaurants, panned for gold, performed minor surgery and became first Woman Special. At the beginning she heard that there was gold from the paperboy. Also in the beginning she traveled to dig for gold. In the middle she packed a enormous food supplies. Also her stuff got ruined so people helped her out. So she cooked for them and they said it was amazing. At the ending she made a deal to open restaurants. Also in the ending people made her first Woman Special.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I give it five stars because I like the characters and the bond between Omar and Hassan even though they have their fights and arguments also I liked how Omar actually went to school.

Fav Character

My favorite character is probably Maryam, why she is intelligent and she shows girl power how because she so smart that she almost got to go to a great school in Canada but her dad made her get married which was really sad. Also my favorite part of her is when she made Omar go back to school to take the exams because she couldn’t go to school to take the exams because her dad made her not go to school.

Fav Moment

My favorite moment is when Omar and Hassan got resettled in America after such a long time waiting if they were going to get resettled and they started giving up hope that they would get resettled. Also they waited about 13 years to leave Dadaab. But also they had to leave all their friend and family which the sad person they had to leave was Fatuma.

I think that how Omar, Hassan, and Fatuma got on the list because of Susana who was the Social Worker. In the book, she wanted to help Omar and she also wanted to meet Omar. Also in the book, she looked glad that Omar wanted to be a Social Worker. Also according to the text, said “if you need anything at all,I am here to help. I want to be a to be a friend to you if you need it.” So he could of ask her if he could get resettled to America.
